The main reason we started 30 Day Journal Co. was to not only help people realize the value in today, but to also realize the importance of every decision we make. It is our hope that when you begin a 30 day journey with us, that your days become more focused, your thoughts become more positive and your decisions become more intentional.
One of the most powerful things I’ve read came from a book titled, The Miracle Morning, by Hal Elrod:
You are where you are today because of the accumulation of choices you made in your past. Most people are not happy with their current situation, yet they continue to do the same thing day after day. If you truly want to change or improve some area of your life, there will never be a better time to start than right now.
Today matters in the big picture of your life. Every decision, thought, action you do today effects more than just today. I’m sure you’ve heard of the Butterfly Effect? To break it down simply, it means that any occurrence or decision, no matter how small, can change the course of your life forever.
The fact that one single, tiny decision can change the course of your life is both terrifying and exhilarating. What if you made a decision right now to change your life for the better? What if one single thought popped in your mind and you had the choice to either accept or reject it? And the thought was “you have what it takes to be successful.” The decision to believe that small, quiet, thought would change the course of your life for the better.
If you believed you could meet your goals wouldn’t you strive for them? Make them bigger? Wouldn’t you find other ways of improving and getting closer to your goals? With every day that the thought enters and you chose to believe it, that belief grows bigger and stronger. Your determination grows stronger and your everyday decisions begin to reflect a newfound confidence. Before you know it, all of these small decisions and actions begin to accumulate and one day you will look up and realize you did it. You are successful.
We have to change the way we think about the choices we make on a daily basis. When you see that these small decisions actually have big impact, then you begin to make better decisions.
